DOCS for Hope
Doctors of Committed Service for Hope Worldwide – better known as “DOCS for Hope” – consists of six family medicine doctors serving both stateside and in the rural, mountainous community of Canillá, Guatemala. Their medical practice model provides consistent medical services to the needy in developing nations 3 months of the year as well as medical services to rural Iowa. Poor infrastructure and a lack of healthcare personnel contribute to high maternal and pediatric morbidity and mortality in Canillá. DOCS for Hope has committed to building a full service hospital in the community that provides jobs, proper medical care, and an opportunity to hear the gospel. Succeeding in school is vital to succeeding in life. Children and adolescents need consistent adults in their lives encouraging them along the way.
