At theRiver, founded on the love that we have found in Christ, we seek to be two things: radically authentic, and missional.  

Radically Authentic
We each have within us some amazing qualities and gifts, as well as some amazingly painful wounds and strong desires to do evil.  It's overwhelming to think of all that lies beneath the surface of the image we each project to those around us.  We believe that we are called to reveal all of who we really are, and together put ourselves in a position to be grabbed by the love God freely offers in his Son Jesus through His Spirit.  We are called to be radically authentic.

Missional
Out of this ever-transforming life we find our purpose.  We seek to know the broken and the cast away, the oppressed and the marginalized... because Jesus is already there with them.  We seek to know and serve those who, unlike us, are not able to project an image.  Jesus' mission is good news to the poor--both in spirit and in life.  As we serve them and the rest of our community, we find ourselves to be saved as well.  We want to be missional.
