Kidventure FAQ's

1. What kind of security is in place for my child?

Parents are required to check in their child at any of our children's check-in desks and then escort their children to the proper Kidventure classroom. Children will be given a printed nametag with their name and a security number. Parents will be given a corresponding numbered security tag. After the service, parents must present their portion of the numbered security tags to pick up their child at his or her classroom.

2. What kind of security check is used for volunteers?

For the safety of all children, Prairie Lakes Church requires all children's volunteer workers and paid staff to have a background check before serving in our children's department.

3.  How do I know what classroom is best for my child?

Children in Kidventure are grouped by grade level.  There are three rooms available:  K-1 for kindergarten and first graders, 2-3 for second and third graders and 4-5 for fourth and fifth graders.  You will drop your child off at the classroom that corresponds with their current grade level.

4. What will my child be doing during the service?

Your student will begin their morning in a small group of other students, working with a leader on an activity.  This is called Plug In time.  This time is designed to help students feel comfortable in the group, while introducing the morning's lesson.

Next, all students gather as a large group in a theater-style room for Power Up time.  This time includes fun music, creative drama and exciting teaching.  The main content of the morning's lesson is presented at this time.

Following Power Up, the students move back into their small groups for Catch On time.  This is the longest segment of the morning.  This time allows the small groups to explore the morning's lesson more deeply through discussion activities, science projects, crafts and games.

When the morning is over, students are sent home with a God Time card to use as a daily devotion tool with their parents and families throughout the coming week.
