Prairie Lakes Church
Get Connected

Whether you’ve visited several times, or are just thinking about coming to Prairie Lakes Church, we’re glad to have you join us. Our Senior Pastor John Fuller has a special welcome for you. We’ve also outlined some of the things you will do when you visit, so you know what to expect.

Before the Service

Choose a service time:
Prairie Lakes Church offers three options now for weekend services: 5:30 Saturday evening, 9:00 or 11:00 Sunday morning. All services are identical and offer the same features.

Our Campus:
Our campus opened in February 2005, and is a larger venue with a worship center seating for 1000, a café, classrooms, and more. It’s situated on 33 acres of land near Prairie Lakes Park. We are working on restoring the natural prairie grasses and habitat in the area, making our campus a beautiful setting for the large windows and open architecture of our 57,000 square-foot facility. The live worship music and message is the same at all three services (5:30 pm on Saturday and 9 & 11 am on Sunday).

Find the church:
Prairie Lakes Church is located at the intersection of Hudson and Viking Roads, one mile north of Highway 20, in Cedar Falls, IA.
As you approach the church on the weekend, you will see volunteers conducting traffic – simply follow their directions into the parking lot and into the church.

Check in your children:
Our weekend kids programs, WeeKids and  KidVenture are the perfect places for children from birth to grade 5. The staff and volunteers create a safe, fun atmosphere in which children can learn Bible stories and participate in age-appropriate worship. Parents check in their children and receive a printed nametag and receipt, with a security number for each child.

Get settled:
At Prairie Lakes Church, you’ll notice a casual atmosphere and people of all ages and walks of life. An usher will give you a program, which includes church announcements and a note-taking sheet for the message.  Then the usher will direct you to seats in the worship center – or you may sit wherever you are most comfortable. Once seated, you’ll want to look at the side screens to get an idea of upcoming events and opportunities for Prairie Lakes attendees.

During the Service

Musical Worship:
This time is set aside for communicating with God from our hearts. Our musical worship team will lead us in upbeat, contemporary songs of celebration, as well as more intimate songs of musical worship. Many of the songs may be familiar to you if you listen to the radio stations Life 101.9, (KNWS) 81.9 The Spirit (KWOF). Everyone worships in his or her own unique way – for many, that means singing and clapping along; and for others it means quietly reflecting on the words. You’re welcome to do whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

Offering:
Each week Prairie Lakes’ regulars make a financial offering. As a guest, there is no need for you to give. This is an act of worship for our regular attendees, allowing them to thank God for all of the great work He is doing in their lives. It also gives Prairie Lakes Church the means to reach more people for Christ in the future.

Message:
Every weekend, our pastors give a relevant, straightforward message that is based on Scripture and is designed to be helpful in your everyday life. Many past messages are available on CD at our Ministries Desk. These messages will help you develop a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and apply biblical teaching to your own life.

Communion:
The second weekend of each month we celebrate communion together. Anyone can participate in this time of reflection and prayer – as long they’ve made the decision to follow Jesus Christ. The juice and bread that we share represent the life He gave up so that our sins could be forgiven.

Kids Programming:
While adults are in the worship center, their kids are listening to their own dynamic interactive message, learning principles that can be lived out all week long. Children are divided into classrooms with age-appropriate teachings and activities, discussing topics that will help them build a solid foundation and a strong relationship with God.

After the Service

Pick up your kids:
If you check a child into kids programming, you will each receive matching ID numbers so that we can be absolutely sure the right kids go home with the right parents. If your child needs you during the service, the number on the sticker you receive will be flashed on the side screens. When you drop your child off, make sure to ask where he or she will be picked up.

Visit the Café:
Saturday evening the café opens at 4:45 (forty-five minutes before the service).  We serve slices of pizzas each week along with an assortment of other snacks and drinks.  On Sunday mornings, our café team prepares fresh sweet rolls and warm cookies along with flavored coffees and an assortment of juices. Our café is a wireless environment.  It’s a great place to relax, discuss the day’s message, or connect with your friends.

Stop by Guest Desk:
If you attend one of our weekend services, make sure to stop by our Guest Desk on your way out. It’s located near the main entrance, in our lobby. You’ll meet a member of our team, get your questions answered, and receive materials to get you started at Prairie Lakes Church
