- About This Sermon
This last week of our Epic series, entitled “Glimpse of Glory,” focuses on the transfiguration account recorded in Matthew. This account happens at a turning point in Jesus’ ministry, marked by the voice of God and preceded by Peter’s profession that Jesus is the Messiah. Peter, James and John witnessed the transfiguration of Jesus as He spoke with Moses and Elijah, two pillars of the Jewish faith. This happened so these disciples would realize Jesus was above all the great men of their faith. They got a glimpse of King Jesus, the Savior of the world. Peter wanted to stay, sit in one spot and enjoy the moment. However, while we do need to sit and enjoy God, we are ultimately asked to get up and carry our cross and reach the world.
