theRiver Cedar Falls

At theRiver, our desire is to help college students increasingly love and obey Jesus through three primary means: Sunday mornings, student-led missional communities and monthly large group gatherings.

Sunday Mornings

The best place to regularly hear the Bible preached, join others in singing and gather with other Christians is the local church. Join us for our Sunday morning 9:00 or 11:00 service at our Cedar Falls campus! Between services at 10:30, college students can get any item in our Café for free [cinnamon rolls, cookies, coffee, water, milk, etc].

Monthly large group gatherings on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Prairie Lakes Church beginning at 8 p.m. The first and last gathering of each semester will be a worship night centered exclusively around singing together. The middle two gatherings will be teaching nights made to feel like a mini-conference. We’ll conclude each meeting with dessert and coffee in our Café for an extended time of community.

The River Summer Edition

Dates: Tuesdays, May 21-August 6
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: 1502 Starview Drive, Cedar Falls

College students and 2019 high school graduates: If you'll be around the Cedar Valley this summer, theRiver wants this season to be a time of spiritual growth and memory making. Hang out with theRiver on Tuesdays at 7 p.m., and make summer 2019 one to remember! We kickoff with a bonfire May 21.

Missional Communities

Student-led, on-campus groups who meet around the Bible each week. Each Missional Community [MC] has a specific people or place they are on mission towards. This could be anything from high school students at PLC, a specific floor in a dorm or a partner organization in our community. Missional Communities will engage students’ heads, hearts and hands as they increasingly love and obey Jesus together.

Sign up for a Missional Community

We have designed our college ministry to care for our students beyond their years of undergraduate education. Many recent college grads struggle to connect to a local church when they move on from their university town because there isn’t a ministry catered specifically to them. We desire to prepare our students for this moment by showing them how to dive into the life of a local church – showing up every Sunday, joining community and serving.
