The Grove Cedar Falls

The Grove points women to God through spiritual growth and community building. It’s a place for women to gather, grow and go! A variety of Bible studies are offered throughout the year in an environment where women have a safe place to grow their faith and knowledge of the Bible and develop a sense of belonging and community. Childcare birth-pre-K is offered during our Tuesday morning studies.

Evening Edition

Time: 6:30-8 p.m.
Location: Cedar Falls Campus Room 210
BookExodus by Jen Wilin
Cost: TBD

The Bible is not a book about self-discovery: it is a book about God-discovery. The Bible is God’s declared intent to make Himself known to us. In learning about the character of God in scripture, we will experience self-discovery, but it must not be the focus of our study. The focus must be God Himself. This study will challenge you to move beyond loving God with just your heart to loving Him with your mind. It will focus on answering the question “What does the Bible say about God?” It will aid you in the worthy task of God-discovery.

Morning Edition

Dates: Tuesdays, January 14-April 23 [off March 19]
Time: 9:15-11:15 a.m.
Location: Cedar Falls Campus Room 210
BookThe Book of James by Francis Chan
Cost: TBD

True faith produces fruit. A faith without action and without life change is ultimately a dead faith. The book of James speaks to the realities of a living faith in Jesus—the kind of roll-up-your-sleeves and get-your-hands-dirty discipleship borne out of an authentic relationship with the risen Lord. James writes to believers who know suffering, who've faced trials and who ultimately desire a deep relationship with God.

BookCounter Culture by David Platt
Cost: TBD

Counter Culture: Welcome to the front lines. Everywhere we turn, battle lines are being drawn―traditional marriage vs. gay marriage, pro-life vs. pro-choice, personal freedom vs. governmental protection. Seemingly overnight, culture has shifted to the point where right and wrong are no longer measured by universal truth but by popular opinion. And as difficult conversations about homosexuality, abortion and religious liberty continue to inject themselves into our workplaces, churches, schools and homes, Christians everywhere are asking the same question: How are we supposed to respond to all this? David Platt shows Christians how to actively take a stand on such issues as poverty, sex trafficking, marriage, abortion, racism and religious liberty―and challenges us to become passionate, unwavering voices for Christ.

BookWomen of The Word: How To Study The Bible With Both Our Hearts and Minds by Jen Wilkin
Cost: TBD

We all know it’s important to study God’s Word. But sometimes, it’s hard to know where to start. What’s more, a lack of time, emotionally-driven approaches and past frustrations can erode our resolve to keep growing in our knowledge of Scripture. How can we, as Christian women, keep our focus and sustain our passion when reading the Bible? Offering a clear and concise plan to help women go deeper in their study of Scripture, this book will equip you to engage God’s Word in a way that trains your mind and transforms your heart.
